Directing
I believe wholeheartedly in ensemble-based theatre that prizes the people creating the work as much as the work itself. As a director, it is my job to facilitate an inclusive and consent-based creative space where everyone feels heard and can offer their ideas in the creative laboratory that makes up the world of the play. I do not hold the monopoly on good ideas and turn to my ensemble and community, the ones the work is by and for, to imagine with me what the work can be and needs to be.
I strive to inspire boldness and bravery in the rehearsal room, onstage listening and presence, and courage and determination to make art that means something. I make art that serves its community and engages with the questions of the world in real time.
